I am (of course) ALL IN when it comes to seeing you bring a story to life via graphic novel. I am here for this! Also, I completely get letting ideas simmer for a while. I've been doing a lot of that with The After Death lately. Y'know, just because there aren't illustrations down on paper yet, that doesn't mean there isn't a story building somewhere else in the back of my mind! Some small advice about making plans: I never make one plan, but have a plan B, C, and D for when plan A inevitably goes south. The trick there is being able to roll with the punches. I say this to you, but will admit the older I get, the more difficult it is for me to just go with the flow. I'm not sure if that's just getting older and grumpier, or is symptomatic of something else. Thanks for sitting down with us even though you weren't feeling it!

Thank you so much for the encouragement, Brandon! I really am so excited to dig into this one--but definitely am trying to roll with those punches and adjust, as you said. It feels like it's been a long journey of learning and re-learning that my creative life and the rest of life are all part of the same thing, and not two separate worlds, you know? It's all a process, but I *think* I'm making progress learning to go with it and give myself (and ideas) the space they need. (Also I'm so excited for more of The After Death! It's been amazing to follow along as you develop the story!)

I’m reading Things Not Said because I want to have a reference for how you adapt it! I’m very excited!

That's so great! I'll be reposting it chapter by chapter here on Substack starting in a couple of weeks (with some super basic, mostly spelling and simple grammar edits) if you want to wait for that. With each chapter I repost here, my plan is to include some graphic novel designs/exploration, like character designs and taking small sections to adapt into graphic novel style panels. I'm excited, too!!
